Little Red Book is also consumed worldwide, with over 30 million monthly active users (MAUs) outside China, the majority in Southeast Asia.

Steps to registering your own little Red Book account for personal use:

  • Little Red Book is designed primarily for Mobile consumption, so go to the Apple or Google Play store and download the App. Search using the term ‘Xiaohongshu’. The icon looks like this:

  • To register your account, you will require a mobile phone number or email address. 
  • After launching the app, select your language preference.

  • Tap “Sign Up”, which is located at the bottom of the screen.

  • Select the option to sign up with a phone number or email.

  • Enter your information, including your name, location, and password. If you have a Chinese identification card, you can scan it to verify your account and access all features.

  • Complete the verification process. Xiaohongshu will send a verification code to your phone or email.

  • Enter the code to complete the process.

  • Start exploring Little Red Book!

Xiaohongshu’s homepage will appear after logging in. You can explore different products and features by browsing the homepage and searching using keywords. Using English or Chinese is acceptable for searching. Using the red’ Follow’ tab, you can also follow other brands or users. If you intend to post on Little Red Book, English is an option, although we encourage you to use Chinese, as this is ultimately a Chinese app.
