You get to collaborate, connect and be supported by David Thomas and Lisa Goodhand, a host of other program advisers in both Australia and China and the other challengers who come onboard.
Orientation Tour
One of the highlights of the challenge is the 8 Day Orientation Tour to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing that finishes with a retreat at the foot of The Great Wall.
Competitive Motivation
While the challenge is firstly and fore-mostly a forum for collaboration and support, there's also a competitive edge to it, to keep challengers on track, accountable and motivated to achieve their China vision. One lucky winner will be selected at the final Pitch Day where a panel of China experts will get to review all the plans and achievements and select a winner.
Opportunity
The 88 Day China Marketing Challenge is designed to suit progressive SMEs in the areas of design, technology, creativity, education, the arts, recruitment, healthcare, environmental protection, training, finance and/or professional services (not to mention a host of other world class products, services and expertise!), with a passion for travel, cross-cultural experiences and personal and business growth. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with Australia's largest trading partner and the most populous country in the world!
Cost to participate (select all or one part, its your choice!)
The 88 Day China Marketing Challenge is a three part program which is available either as one fully integrated program or as three individual components. The details are as follows:
Step 1 - Preparation
This is an intensive
focused assistance program comprising:
• 3 x ½ day workshops on key issues
• 9 hours of one-on-one support
During this time you will explore new opportunities and exchange
ideas with a group of like-minded business owners and managers
who all have the same objective; to (a) build their China Market
Entry Plan, and (b) prepare for the 8 Day China Immersion Program
(Step 2).
Step 2 - 8 Day Orientation Tour in China
Come to China with us for 8 days to meet local businesses, experts and entrepreneurs, including business matching sessions and briefings in:
- Hong Kong - a gateway to China
- Zhangjiagang - showcasing a Free Trade Zone
- Shanghai - develop your value proposition for Chinese consumers
- Ningbo - engage with China's private sector at Innovation Valley
- Beijing - navigate the local environment to succeed in China
These are 8 full, interactive and highly business-focused days in China that you won't want to miss!
Step 3 - Market Entry
Above all, our 88 Day China Marketing Challenge is about execution, engagement and results, so we plan to work with our Challengers to ensure that they build on their learnings from Steps 1 and 2 and design, develop and implement a market entry strategy which has a high chance of success. At the end, we will declare a winner - the business which has demonstrated the commitment, innovation, leadership and resolve to succeed in China. An Australian success story which can make us proud, and an example to others of what it takes to succeed in China.
The countdown starts soon. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get serious about China. Tell your friends.
There are five simple reasons why you need to consider China as your next destination;
-
China’s relationship with Australia is at an all time high, making it easier to enter the market place
-
China is stimulating their local economy by investing in infrastructure, transport, industry, housing and the environment
-
China is encouraging domestic spending by offering a range of incentives, discounts, tax breaks, loans to increase the sale of domestic and foreign products and services
-
China has capital and is willing to invest to attract foreign companies to set up in China
-
China is a Learning Nation and hungry for Western knowledge and business practices.

Tough economic times often mean that businesses face greater pressure on cash flow as banks pull back on lending and customers pay more slowly. Increases in bad debts also cause significantly increased pressure on not only cash flow, but also profitability and quite often the ongoing viability of the business.
Recent statistics released by Australia's largest facilitator of credit insurance, National Credit Insurance, reveal that claims for bad debts for the 12 months ended February 2009 are up 55% on the corresponding period for the last year and 72% for same period ended February 2007.
China Blueprint has recently partnered specialist working capital provider Taurus Trade Finance to offer protection against bad debts as well as access to an increased level of cash flow. During a time when many banks appear to be retracting from the business lending environment Taurus is providing clients with funding facilities that include Letters of Credit, Trade Finance Bills and Debtor Finance to ensure the client has sufficient working capital from the very beginning of the importation process until the customer finally pays their account. In a unique development for the Australian market Taurus is also offering protection against the risk of bad debts by offering credit insurance.
The combination of increased working capital and protection against bad debts is assisting many Australian businesses to become "Recession Proof". In their March 4 press release Taurus announced expansion into Queensland as well across their traditional Sydney, Melbourne markets, providing greater opportunity for those businesses looking for a solution in a tougher economic environment.
